Title:-
Racial
Discrimination: The Record of Japan
About
the Book:- The
perceived homogeneity of Japanese society, Japan’s feudal history and
modern war-time abuses have created an environment in which minorities
suffer discrimination both directly and indirectly. While doka
seisaku or a
principle of assimilation is the overarching principle governing
minorities in Japan, it co-exists with policies of segregation and
discrimination. This report examines the harassment and social exclusion
faced by four distinct racial and ethnic minorities: the Buraku; the
indigenous Ainu and Okinawans, Japanese-born Koreans, and migrant workers
from neighbouring Asian countries.
